256986 Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry
SYMPTOMS
When trying to open a Microsoft FrontPage configuration file that has the .cnf extension, nothing happens or Microsoft NetMeeting starts.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if both NetMeeting and FrontPage are installed on your computer. Both NetMeeting and FrontPage use files that have the .cnf extension. In NetMeeting, .cnf files store speed dial information for contacts. In FrontPage, .cnf files store a wide range of metadata information. For more information, please see the " More Information" section of this article.
RESOLUTIONWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
