When you run Office Setup, you may receive the following message after the installation of the System Files Update
You must restart your computer before configuration of Microsoft Office XP edition can continue.
Would you like to restart now?
where Microsoft Office XP edition is the name of the specific Office product being used.
You receive this message even if you use either REBOOT=Force and/or REBOOTPROMPT=S in the command line, the Setup.ini file, or a transform created by the Custom Installation Wizard.
WORKAROUND
To automatically restart after the installation of the System Files Update, you must use the /q switch. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start and then click Run.
- Type a command line similar to the following in the Open box
where path is the full path to your Office installation source files.
- Click OK.
Setup will run with the user interface in Basic mode. This means you cannot make any choices, and Office will be installed with default settings. NOTE: The /q switch can only be used with Enterprise editions of Office XP. For additional information, click the article number below
