OFFXPDEV: Localized Characters Are Not Displayed Correctly When You Use "Save with Encoding" with a Different Code Page on HTML Files (290263)

After you save and close an HTML file that has encoding, and you then open the file in the Microsoft Developer Environment, the localized language characters are not displayed correctly.
CAUSE
The code page of the HTML file does not match the code page of the language version for your operating system.
RESOLUTION
When you save the HTML file, follow these steps:
- On the File menu, click Save As.
- Click the arrow to the right of the Save button, and then click Save with Encoding.
- In the Encoding list, click an item that includes the word "Unicode."
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
