Web Server Log Import DTS Task Does Not Populate Order Table When You Use SSL (290222)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to run the Web Server Log Import (Commerce Server) Data Transformation Services (DTS) task, the Orders table in the Data Warehouse may be missing entries that were contained in the logs.

CAUSE

The Web Server Log Import DTS task cannot interpret the order event information of entries in which Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Commerce Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 1.

MORE INFORMATION

If the Orders table is not populated with data, any reports that depend upon the Orders table will be inaccurate. The Orders table is updated if there is data in the logs that was created when SSL was not enabled on the site.
