When you log on to Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services installed, the NUM LOCK key is always disabled. Even if you enable the NUM LOCK key, and then log off, the NUM LOCK key is disabled again when you log on to the server.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, enable the NUM LOCK key after you have logged on to the server.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
This behavior ensures that you do not have to change the state of the NUM LOCK key for the users of laptop computers who may be logging on to a Terminal Services-based session.
