"Stop 0x000000CE" in Vga.dll When You Try to Change Display Settings (290114)

When you click the Settings tab in the Display Properties dialog box, the following Stop error may occur:
STOP: 0x000000CE (0xbfc19492, 0x00000000, 0xbfc19492, 0x00000000)
DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING_PENDING_OPERATION
This Driver May be at Fault: VGA.DLL
Note that the first and third parameters may vary.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if Symantec PCAnywhere version 9.0 or 10.0 is installed. This issue occurs because of a compatibility issue with the PCAnywhere display dynamic-link library (DLL).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use any of the following methods:
- Uninstall PCAnywhere, and then change the display settings.
- Uninstalling and reinstall PCAnywhere, and then change the display settings.
- Start PCAnywhere, click Tools, click Application Options, and then click Host Operation. Change Host video mode to Compatible.
