PPT2001: Must Hold Down Mouse Button to Display Menus (290084)

After you use some commands or features, menu commands do not stay visible after you click the title of the menu; you have to hold down the mouse button in order to see the commands.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you use a command or feature that is implemented as part the Microsoft Office 2001 shared library. Some commands that use the shared library include:
- On the Tools menu, click Customize.
- On the Tools menu, click Flag for Follow-Up.
WORKAROUND
To make the menus "sticky" again, open any dialog box that does not use the shared library, and then click Cancel. This includes, but is not limited to the following dialog boxes:
- On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
- On the Format menu, click Fonts.
- On the Edit menu, click Header and Footer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
