OL2002: Outlook Does Not Dial a New Connection When Switching Dial-Up Connections (290018)

When you dial by using one of two connections that are set up for Outlook 2002, and you click Hang-up in response to the prompt about changing connections, the computer does not then dial a new connection to allow synchronization with the server.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you do not use Outlook when you originally establish the dial-up connection to the server.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, dial the number manually to connect with the server.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
