OL2002: You Cannot Edit a Task in TaskPad in the Calendar View (290011)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a new task, with a custom field, in the Task view, you may not be able to edit that task in the Calendar view. The task appears in the Calendar view, but you may not be able to type an entry in the TaskPad.

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, type an entry in the TaskPad in the Tasks view instead of in the Calendar view to edit the task.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
