OL2002: Pressing TAB Does Not Produce Acceptance of AutoComplete Name Suggestion (289986)

SYMPTOMS

While you are typing a name in a box and the AutoComplete feature suggests a complete name, you press the TAB key to accept the suggestion but the cursor moves to the next box without the name's being resolved. This happens when Microsoft Word is your e-mail editor.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because there is only one possible match. If there are more possibilities, AutoComplete lists them and then accepts the suggested name when you press the TAB key.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
