OL2002: Error Message When You Click 'Test Connection' (289951)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Test Connection, you may receive the following error message:
Rundll32 has caused an error in MSO.dll. Rundll32 will now close.

Both the New Account Wizard and Outlook 2002 close when you click OK.

CAUSE

This problem can occur when Outlook 2002 is running on a Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me)-based computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
