OL2002: OFT Help Information Is Not Provided (289948)

When you search the Help menu for Outlook Form template (.oft) information, the information is not provided. When you create a rule that requires a reply message, information about how to create an .oft file is not provided on the Help menu.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the instructions for creating an Outlook Form template reply message is not available on the Help menu.
RESOLUTION
The following are the instruction to create a reply Outlook Form template to use with a reply rule.
- Start Outlook 2002.
- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
- Click to clear the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages check box.
- Click to clear the Use Microsoft Word to read Rich Text e-mail messages check box.
- Open a new message from the Inbox folder.
- Click in the message body, and then type a reply.
- On the File menu, click Save As, click Save as Type: Select Outlook Template (*.OFT).
- Type a file name.
- Click OK.
You can now use the saved .oft file in a rule when you need a reply message.
MORE INFORMATION
When you open an .oft file that contains script behind it, the script does not run because of a new high security settings in Microsoft Outlook. You must publish the template to a Microsoft Exchange folder (trusted location) before its script is executed.
Custom forms that are saved out as .oft files become "one-off" forms, and they end up being saved as a form definition within a standard Outlook item.
