This article was previously published under Q289917 SYMPTOMS
When you define Send/Receive Groups for your Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) e-mail account, a check box is displayed next to the parent Public Folders folder. Outlook allows you to manually click to select this check box, and Outlook also selects this check box if you right-click the root folder and then click Check All Subfolders.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Send/Receive Groups feature does not determine that the Public Folders folder is a virtual folder.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem if you do not want to add the Public Folder folder to your Send/Receive Group:
- Right-click the root folder, and then click Check All Subfolders.
- Click to clear the check box that is next to the Public Folders folder in the folder list.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
If the virtual parent Public Folders folder is selected for inclusion in the Send/Receive Group, this does not cause any send or receive problems.
