Option to Enable Active Desktop in Internet Explorer 5.0 Is Missing After Upgrade from Earlier Version (289911)

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade from an earlier version of Internet Explorer to Internet Explorer 5.0, and you did not use Active Desktop in the earlier version, Internet Explorer 5.0 does not provide any option to turn on the Active Desktop feature.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, remove Internet Explorer 5.0, reinstall Internet Explorer 4.0 and turn on its Active Desktop option, and then upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.0.
