Font changes when you copy text box and paste as picture (289866)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1)

This article was previously published under Q289866

SYMPTOMS

When you copy a text box on a PowerPoint slide and then paste it into a slide in another presentation, or into another program, such as Microsoft Word, the font changes unexpectedly.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you have applied Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP-2) and you do the following:
  1. Copy a text frame on a slide master and then paste it into a slide (slide A).
  2. Copy the text frame from slide A and paste it into a second presentation (slide B).
  3. Copy the text frame from slide B and paste it into a third presentation.
The problem occurs because the font properties for the slide master in the second presentation differ from the font properties for the slide master in the first presentation.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
