SYMPTOMS
When you click Links on the toolbar in Internet Explorer 4.x, the links that appear in the Favorites folder do not appear on the toolbar menu, and you cannot add new links to the toolbar.
RESOLUTIONWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
To resolve this issue, delete two values in the registry:
- Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
- Locate and click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar - Expand the WebBrowser key, and then delete the {0E5CBF21-D15F-11D0-8301-00AA005B4383} value.
- Expand the ShellBrowser key, and then delete the {0E5CBF21-D15F-11D0-8301-00AA005B4383} value.
- Quit Registry Editor.
- Restart the computer.
