"AppleTalk Was Not Initialized on Any Adapter" Error Message After You Install Protocol (289733)

When you install the AppleTalk protocol, AppleTalk does not bind to the installed network adapter. Event Viewer may log the following error message:
No adapter is configured to be the default adapter. AppleTalk was not initialized on any adapter.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if a previously installed network adapter is physically removed and replaced with a different network adapter.

This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.MORE INFORMATION
AppleTalk requires that you select one of the adapters on the computer as the default adapter. If the default adapter is not chosen correctly, AppleTalk does not function correctly. In this instance, the AppleTalk protocol selects an adapter that no longer physically exists on the computer.
