SYMPTOMS

If you use the AddIPAddress() function to add a large number of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to a network interface card (NIC), and the NIC is disabled at the same time, a Stop 0x000000D5 error may occur in Tcpip.sys.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.

RESOLUTION
