FP2002: Error Saving ASP File on IIS Web Server Using WebDAV (289698)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to save an Active Server Page (ASP) on an IIS web server using WebDAV, the following error message appears:
An error occurred while attempting to write the file.
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Open the web folder from My Network Places or My Computer\Web Folders
  2. Copy the ASP file to your desktop.
  3. Open the ASP file on your desktop by using FrontPage.
  4. On the File menu, click Save As. Open the Web Folder where the ASP page is located.
  5. Save the file using the original file name.
  6. When you receive a prompt about overwriting the original file, click OK.
