Cannot Open Favorite Site on Handheld PC 2000 (289591)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can use the Add to Favorites command on the Favorites menu to save a link to your favorite Web pages. But after you do so, you may not be able to open your favorite sites when you use the Favorites command on the Start menu.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your favorite Web page has an address (or URL) with repetitive subfolders.

RESOLUTION

If your favorite Web site does not open when you use the Favorites command on the Start menu, use the Favorites menu in Internet Explorer instead.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
