SYMPTOMS

When you play a video in Full Screen mode and press ALT+F4 to quit Windows Media Player, Windows Media Player does not quit; Windows Media Player returns to the window and the video stops responding (hang), but the sound continues to play.

WORKAROUND

To quit a video that is playing in Full Screen mode, press ALT+ENTER or press ESC to return to a window, and then use any of the following methods to quit Windows Media Player:
  • Press ALT+F4.
  • Click the Close button.
  • Click Exit on the File menu.
