This article was previously published under Q289311

SYMPTOMS

When you click Print Preview on the File menu, a web component that you inserted on the web page is not displayed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you insert a Microsoft ActiveX control on a web page.

ActiveX controls are not displayed in the Print Preview window, and they are not printed when you are printing from Print Preview.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, view and print the web page from Microsoft Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start FrontPage 2002, and then open the web that you want.
  2. On the File menu, click Preview in Browser.
  3. In the Preview in Browser dialog box, click Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then click Preview.
  4. NOTE: The following steps assume that Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 is the selected browser.
    1. On the File menu, click Print Preview.

The ActiveX control is displayed in the Print Preview window.
    2. Click Print on the Print Preview menu.

      The ActiveX control is printed.

MORE INFORMATION
