If a printer graphics DLL file uses graphics device interface (GDI)-managed surfaces, and if it supports surface banding, it can optionally provide a DrvQueryPerBandInfo function. GDI calls the function before rendering each band.
When a printer graphics DLL's DrvQueryPerBandInfo function is called by GDI before it begins drawing a band for a physical page, the driver can supply GDI with band-specific information. When printing, an independent hardware vendor (IHV) driver calls the DrvQueryPerBandInfo device driver interface (DDI) for preanalysis, but does not succeed.
