SYMPTOMS

When you copy a file to a Windows 2000-based computer from a Windows-based computer that negotiates file transfers with LANMAN 2.1, you may find that the Modified date attribute has an incorrect date and time of February 07, 2106 6:28:15 AM.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because, when the copying process generates a GetExtendedAttributes SMB from a Windows-based computer that negotiates with LANMAN 2.1, the server sends back the wrong Modified date and time in response to the SMB_COM_QUERY_INFORMATION request.
