Multihomed Computer with Onboard Network Adapter Cannot Rejoin Domain After SP1 Installation (289153)

If you remove a multihomed Windows 2000-based computer from a domain after installing Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1), you may not be able to join the computer to the domain again. An error message states that the computer cannot join the domain.

WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, use either of the following methods and then try again to join the domain:
- Disable the onboard network adapter
- Unbind Client for Microsoft Networks from the onboard network adapter
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
