PUB2002: Text Doesn't Wrap Around Pictures in Web Page Preview or Web Browser (289091)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Publisher 2002

This article was previously published under Q289091

SYMPTOMS

When you preview a Web page created in Microsoft Publisher 2002 that contains a graphic with text set to wrap around it, the text overwrites the graphic rather than wrapping around it.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you installed the Chinese or Japanese language from the Microsoft Office XP Multilingual User Interface Pack and you set the alignment of the text box to Justify (Asian).

The Chinese and Japanese Language Packs enable Publisher to suppport new text frame styles and text alignment, such as Justify (Asian). The Justify (Asian) alignment option is not supported in a Web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer; it is currently supported only in Publisher.

WORKAROUND

Set the alignment of the text box to Justify rather than Justify (Asian). To change the alignment of the text box, follow these steps:
  1. Click the text box that you want to edit.
  2. On the Format menu, click Indents and Lists.
  3. In the Indents and Lists dialog box, under Alignment, select Justified, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
