PUB2002: Attention Getters May Not Change Correctly When Placed Off the Page (289071)

SYMPTOMS

When you change the appearance of certain Design Gallery objects while these objects are positioned off the publications page (in the scratch area), the Design Gallery object may grow or shift position, or it may disappear.

This behavior occurs with Attention Getters and Picture Caption objects placed on the workspace above or to the side of the actual page in a publication.

WORKAROUND

Move the object to a different location on the publication page before making changes.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
