PUB2002: TextRange.Fields Collection Is Not Limited to a Single Text Box (289070)

SYMPTOMS

If you create Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) code that affects any special fields within a Microsoft Publisher text box, the code may also affect other fields and return unexpected results.

These special fields include the Horizontal In Vertical field, and the Date and Time field.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because VBA code that affects special fields applies to the specified text box, as well as to any other text box that is part of the same story (any text box that is linked to the text box affected by the code.)

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
