SYMPTOMS

When you create a border or a shape and all sides are not the same color or line weight, the border does not display at all when viewed in Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.0 or 5.5.

WORKAROUND

To display borders and shapes in Internet Explorer, use the same color and line width on all sides.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
