This article was previously published under Q289031 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to start a new section in Microsoft Publisher publication, the new section always starts with an even-numbered (left side) page. This behavior occurs even when you select an odd-numbered (right side) page to start the new section.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you insert a section break into a publication while you are viewing the publication as a two-page spread (click to select the Two-Page Spread check box on the View menu). Publisher is designed to always start a new section with an even-numbered page when it is viewed as a two-page spread.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- On the View menu, click to clear the Two-Page Spread check box.
- On the Page Navigation bar, click the page that you want the new section to start from.
- On the Insert menu, click Section.
- In the Section dialog box, click to select the Begin a section with this page check box.
- Make the other selections that you want in this dialog box, and then click OK.
- On the View menu, click to select the Two-Page Spread check box.
The new section starts on the page that you want, even if it is an odd-numbered page.
For more information about changing the page number that a section starts with, click Microsoft Publisher Help on the
