OL2000: Renaming Folder at the Root Level Does Not Re-Sort the Folder List (288895)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q288895 SYMPTOMS
After you rename a folder, the Folder List does not re-sort itself.
WORKAROUND
You can force the Folder List to re-sort itselft by collapsing and then re-expanding the Folder List tree. Do this by clicking the minus sign (-), and then clicking the plus sign (+) at the root (top level) of the Folder List.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
The Folder List does not automatically re-sort itself if the first letter of the new name is a lower value than the original name, "A" being a lower value than "Z." For example, if you have a folder whose name is "ZZZZ," and you rename the folder "AAAA," the Folder List is not automatically resorted. However, if your original folder name is "AAAA," and you rename the folder to "ZZZZ," the Folder List is automatically resorted.
