PRB: Incompatible Repository Error Message Occurs After Installation of DSO on Client Computer (288890)

SYMPTOMS

If you follow the "Installation Notes For DSO" section that is in the Redist.txt file of the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 CD to install Decision Support Objects (DSO) for Analysis Services on a target computer, and you then run a DSO application, the following error message occurs:
Incompatible Repository

CAUSE

Decision Support Objects (DSO) for Analysis Services requires several Microsoft Repository DLL files to be present on the target computer.

WORKAROUND

You must install the Repository DLLs before the DSO DLLs. To install the Repository DLLs, follow the "Installation Notes For Repository" section of the Redist.txt file to install the Microsoft Repository files, and then follow the "Installation Notes For Decision Support Objects (DSO)" to install DSO. You must register the DSO DLL files in the following order: 
Msmdnet.dll
Msmdlock.dll
Msmddo.dll
Msmddo80.dll
