SUMMARY

Event ID: 4036
Source: Application Center
Description: Member offline - monitor state critical
Event Type: Error

The member %ServerName% was taken offline because a monitor on the member has reached the critical state.

Meaning: The member was brought offline by Application Center in response to a monitor in the Online/Offline data group reaching a critical state.

Effect: The member will not serve content until the problem that made the monitor critical is fixed, the member is brought online manually, or the monitor is disabled. If the member is normally in the synchronization loop, it will continue to be synchronized with the cluster controller unless the problem that caused the member to go offline is in the synchronization functionality.

Possible Causes and Solutions

Web service stopped: The Web service on the member is not operating. Start or restart the Web service and then try the task again.

No permissions: The access permissions on the Web site http://120.0.0.1 do not allow access to the http://120.0.0.1 monitor. This will cause the monitor to fail. By default, this monitor requires anonymous authentication for access. Make sure that the settings on this monitor match the authentication settings on your site.

Other Solutions (listed in order of preference):
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Use the Support Online link in the Events view.
