PPT2002: New Transitions Not Available When New Animation Effects Are Disabled (288581)

SYMPTOMS

When you disable the new animation effects in PowerPoint, all the new transitions included in PowerPoint 2002, are also missing:
  • Comb (vertical and horizontal)
  • Fade Smoothly
  • Newsflash
  • Push (Down, Up, Left and Right)
  • Circle
  • Diamond
  • Plus
  • Plus
  • Wedge
  • Wheel (1,2,3,4, and 8 spoke)

CAUSE

Transitions are part of the animation component of PowerPoint. If you disable the new animation effects, the new transitions are also disabled.

RESOLUTION

To use the new transitions, re-enable the new animation effects. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools click Options.
  2. Click the Edit tab.
  3. Under Disable new features, click to clear the New animation effects check box, and then click OK.
