Event Type: Error

The Application Center Synchronization service could not change the %AttrName% global synchronization setting to %AttrValue%. Status is %Status%: %StatusMessage%.

Meaning: The synchronization service could not change a synchronization setting on a file or object.

Effect: If this is a cluster member, synchronization with the cluster controller might not continue properly until this problem is fixed. The rest of the cluster is not affected by this problem. If this is the cluster controller, synchronization might not continue properly on the cluster until this problem is fixed.

Possible Causes and Solutions

Configuration store (metabase) corrupt: The store that Application Center uses for configuration data is corrupted or unavailable. Restart the IIS Admin service by using the Services utility in Administrative Tools.

Also investigate:
  • Windows Event Log for failures
  • Disk hardware failure
