How to Discover Site and Subnet Information By Using the ADMA (288561)

SUMMARY

This article describes how to successfully discover sites and subnet information by using the Active Directory management agent (ADMA). Site and subnet information can be discovered and then you can propagate it to the root domain configuration container of each forest. By doing this, users can locate devices (such as printers) in a consistent manner, independent of the forest or physical location from which they log on to Windows 2000.

Specifically, if you need to perform site and subnet synchronization, the following minimum object classes must be discovered:
  • configuration
  • container
  • subnetContainer
  • site
  • subnet

MORE INFORMATION

To Verify Site and Subnet Information in your Active Directory Forest

  1. In Active Directory Sites and Services, open the sites container for the site information.
  2. Open the subnet container for the subnet information.
  3. Verify the site and subnet information in each forest prior to performing an import.

To Include the Object Class

  1. Click Active Directory Management Agent.
  2. Click Config the MA, and then on the Active Directory Discovery Settings tab, click Active Directory Objects to Discover.
