OL2001: Outlook 2001 Does Not Attach Web Forms When You Forward a Message (288516)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Outlook 2001 for Mac
This article was previously published under Q288516 SYMPTOMS
If you receive a Web form that was developed on a Microsoft Windows computer and sent by an Outlook for Microsoft Windows client, the fields and other content may not appear as expected. In addition, if you forward the Web form, it is not received correctly, even if you send it to an Outlook for Windows user.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Web forms are developed as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) documents. The form properties are not retained because Outlook 2001 for Mac does not support HTML messaging.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, use an installation of Outlook that is running on a Microsoft Windows computer to handle the Web form. Microsoft Outlook 98, Microsoft Outlook 2000, and Microsoft Outlook 2002 all support HTML messaging.
MORE INFORMATION
When a Web form is received and forwarded by an Outlook 2001 for Mac user, the HTML attributes and form properties convert to text items.
