OL2001: Cannot Drag QuickTime Movies to Message from Office Files (288513)

If you drag a QuickTime movie from a Microsoft Word document or other Microsoft Office 2001 file into the body of an message that you created in Microsoft Outlook 2001 for Mac, your computer may stop responding (hang), and you may receive the following error message:
The source application for the object could not be started.
WORKAROUND
Use one of the following methods to work around this problem: NOTE: These methods assume that the QuickTime movie exists on the hard disk as a file. The movie cannot be extracted from the Microsoft Office document.
- Drag the QuickTime movie file from the Finder to the body of the message.
-or-
- Add the movie as an attachment by clicking Insert File on the message toolbar, and then selecting the QuickTime movie that you want to attach.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
