Meaning: The Application Center Cluster Service failed to start.
Effect: If this is the cluster controller, no administrative actions, such as adding or removing members, synchronizing the cluster, or taking a member offline can be done until the problem that caused the error is fixed. Actions can still be done while connected to the cluster members directly.
If this is a cluster member, it will not receive cluster configuration updates, such as cluster IP address or cluster name changes, until the problem that caused the error is fixed.
Possible Causes and SolutionsConfiguration store (metabase) corrupt: The store that Application Center uses for configuration data is corrupted or unavailable. Restart the IIS Admin service by using the
Services utility in
Administrative Tools. If this problem persists, contact your support personnel.
Stopped services: One or more of the services that Application Center depends on has stopped. Check the following services by using the
Services utility in
Control Panel:
- Application Center Synchronization
- Application Center Cluster
- Application Center Log Query Helper
- Application Center Name Resolution
- IIS Admin
- Remote Procedure Call
- Windows Management Instrumentation
