PRB: Stopping an Application Center 2000 Synchronization or Deployment May Cause Many 5064 Events (288334)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Application Center 2000

This article was previously published under Q288334

SYMPTOMS

If you stop an Application Center 2000 synchronization or deployment by using the Stop button at the top of the Synchronizations display in the right pane of the Application Center 2000 Administration Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, replication error 5064 messages may appear for all the files that were scheduled for transfer when the replication session was stopped. These error messages are normal and do not indicate a problem with Application Center 2000.

MORE INFORMATION

Application Center 2000 schedules files for transfer in separate threads from those that actually transfer the files. When you stop a replication session, there may be a large number of files scheduled and waiting for transfer. The transfer threads log an Application Center 2000 Replication Event ID 5064 with a status of 0x800704c7 for each scheduled file that was not yet transferred when the stop took effect. These messages appear in the Application Center 2000 Event Display panes and in the Application Event Log.
