Links 2001: Cannot Create First Hole in Course Designer (288184)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to design a course in the Arnold Palmer Course Designer program, a circle with a slash through it may be displayed when you attempt to create the first hole.

NOTE: This issue occurs when you click define a hole path, move the pointer in the Bottom xyz window, click where you want the hole to start, and then drag the pointer to display the yardage for the first hole.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Apcd.ini file is damaged or missing.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, delete the Apcd.ini file, and then restart the game:
  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type apcd.ini.
  3. In the Look in box, click My Computer.
  4. Click Find Now.
  5. Right-click the Apcd.ini file in the list of found files, and then click Delete.
  6. Restart the Course Designer.
