Error Message: "Error 29180" When You Run ForestPrep on Mobile Information Server (287918)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Mobile Information Server Setup with the /vForestPrep=1 switch, you may receive the following error message:
Error 29180. Failed to check if user is schema admin error no:0x8007054b,
error message: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are not logged on to the domain, but are logged on to the local server instead.

RESOLUTION

Verify that your server has a valid machine account in the domain, and that you are logged on as a user with Schema Administrator and Domain Administrator privileges to Active Directory in your forest.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are logged on to the local server instead of the domain as Administrator, you receive the error message in the "Symptoms" section. For example, you are logged on as Mmisserver\Administrator instead of Domain\Administrator.
