Fax Setup Security Error Message Appears During SBS Upgrade to Version 4.5 (287863)

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) from version 4.0 to version 4.5, the following error message may appear during the upgrade of the fax software:

"Fax setup security error: The account name and password is invalid. Please re-enter your account name and password."

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, type the administrator account name either for the domain or for the local computer, in the following format:

domainname\administrator

or

computername\administrator

Then enter the correct password. Installation should continue normally.
