SYMPTOMS

After you add an Archive folder in Outlook 2002, you may notice that the order of information stores in the folder list changes when you restart Outlook.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

If you specify archive settings for a folder and start the archive process, the Archive folder appears in your Folder List in a non-alphabetical order. If you restart Outlook, the Archive folder appears at the top of your Folder List or in alphabetical order.
