SUMMARY

When you install Outlook 2002 on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services, Microsoft Word is not set as your default e-mail editor.

When Word is set as your default e-mail editor, Word is loaded in memory along with the Outlook e-mail client. This reduces the number of users that can log on to the Terminal Server, and can potentially affect the performance of that Terminal Server. To reduce the impact, installations of Outlook on a Terminal Server do not have Word set as the default e-mail editor.

Use the following steps if you must use Word as your default e-mail editor:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Mail Format tab, click to select Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages.
  3. Click OK.
