SYMPTOMS

Messages to Lotus cc:Mail that contain headers that are larger than 4 kilobytes (KBs) may generate non-delivery reports (NDRs).

RESOLUTION

With the Lotus cc:Mail Import/Export utility version 8.2x and later, the message header limit is raised to 160 KB (163,840 bytes). To make the Connector for cc:Mail recognize the new message header limitation, you must perform the following steps. Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
  1. Ensure that the newer versions (8.2x or later) of the Lotus cc:Mail Import/Export utility is in place on the Exchange Server computer that is running the Connector for cc:Mail. 2.
  2. Add the following registry key:
    1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
    2. Locate the following key in the registry:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeCCMC\Parameters

    3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:

      Value Name: Max Address Buffer Size
      Data Type: REG_DWORD
      Radix: Hexadecimal
      Value: 28000

    4. Quit Registry Editor
