ACC2002: Report Wizard Uses Wrong Caption (Standard) for Calculated Percentages (287465)

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and to a Microsoft Access project (.adp).

SYMPTOMS

When you specify "Calculate percent of total for sums" on the Summary Options page of the Report Wizard, the caption of the label control reads Standard instead of Percent on the report that is created.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, open the report in Design view and manually change the Caption property of the label control to Percent.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Access 2002.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.
  2. In the Database window, click Reports under Objects, and then click New.
  3. In the New Report dialog box, click Report Wizard, click the Orders table in the Choose the table or query where the object's data comes from box, and then click OK.
  4. Move the OrderID, the CustomerID, and the Freight fields from the Available Fields box to the Selected Fields box by clicking each field, and then clicking the > button.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Add OrderID as a grouping level, and then click Next.
  7. Click Summary Options.
  8. On the Summary Options page, click to select the Sum check box for Freight, and then click Summary Only.
  9. Click to select the Calculate percent of total for sums check box, click OK, and then click Finish.
Note that the caption of the label control reads Standard instead of Percent on the report that is created.
