Internet Explorer for Macintosh does not support an automatic proxy configuration that uses .pac files or .ins files, or that uses Common Gateway Interface (CGI) scripts.

Internet Explorer for Macintosh gets its proxy settings from the MacOS Internet settings. When you edit the system-wide proxy settings in the Internet Explorer Preferences settings, you only change the operating system values. MacOS does not support automatic proxy configuration.
