BUG: DOC: Incorrect Reference to Virtual Server Name VirtualServerA Should be VirtualServerX (287175)

SYMPTOMS

The "SQL Server 2000 Failover Clusters" topic in Microsoft SQL Server Books Online, sets up an example of naming conventions for a SQL Server 2000 cluster. The third bullet item refers to a cluster group named "VirtualServerX".

...During setup, the administrator specifies a SQL Server virtual server name of VirtualServerX, and specifies that the database files be placed on the drive in ClusterGroupA....

The forth bullet item on the page incorrectly refers to this example's virtual server as "VirtualServerA". Later, in the paragraph VirtualServerX is correctly referenced.

Applications attempting to connect to the default instance only need to specify the virtual server name VirtualServerA.... Applications will still connect to the default instance by specifying the virtual server name VirtualServerX.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 2000.
