BUG: Pinging CEPC Device Causes Continuous Stream of Ping Requests (287140)

SYMPTOMS

When a Windows CE PC-based (CEPC) device that contains two PCMCIA NE2000 network cards receives a ping request, one of the cards sends out a continuous stream of ping requests.

CAUSE

An error in the PCMCIA driver causes the first network card's I/O window to overlap the second card's I/O window. The error is in the file \WINCE300\PLATFORM\CEPC\DRIVERS\PCMCIA\Window.c

RESOLUTION

You can work around this problem by giving the first network card additional space. Its normal range is 0x300 through 0x31f. Instead of assigning the second card 0x320, assign it 0x360.

STATUS

This bug has been fixed and the fix is included in the Add On Pack for Microsoft Windows CE Platform Builder 3.0
